This short documentary focuses on how the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hopes to change the comfortability of students of color in Hobart and William Smith Colleges classrooms by hiring more faculty of color. My assignment was to create a 3 minute documentary about some aspect of the efforts at improving diversity and inclusivity on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Campus. I chose to do my topic on the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hobart and William Smith after researching the statistics on ethnic diversity of faculty nationwide compared to faculty at Hobart and William Smith. I then interviewed Khuram Hussain, Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hobart and William Smith. I took video footage across campus for B roll and created pie charts to show the statistics I found in my research on ethnic diversity of faculty to show on screen.
